Established in 1998, folk music band now has 115 members with a complete organization and suitable structure which is a influenced orchestral band of middle school students.

Taking the responsibility of succeeding and developing ethical music, popularizing decorous art, the folk music band make its aim to multi—style, difficult and high standard performance, it employed first class conductor--Liu wenjin, Liu sha and many other musician from famous musical college and performance unit , the Great Wall Capriccio, Un-forgettable Water Splashing Festival, Spring Festival Prelude  and many other excellent ethical works can be played well, the characteristics and taste suitable to middle school students is formed step by step. In many students’ art festival, the band won first and second awards, special concerts and reporting performance were held many times. It also kept an international view with future concentration, successfully finished the performance and foreign reception task appointed by leaders, communicated with Canada, Australia, Japan, had a good reputation in the society. Its name is known by more and more people.
